The above pictured HVIT Calibration System is made up of 1 Philips-Fluke
Frequency Counter, 1 Speed-Trap Light Source/Sensor and 1 Custom Electronic
Interface/Power Source. The Speed-Trap is mounted on the inside panel of the
existing HVIT (at the end of the barrel) and test shots are made comparing the
HVIT Velocity Readout and the speed in micro-seconds of the Frequency
Counter. The micro-second reading is converted to velocity and the two readings
are compared. If the readings are significantly different, adjustments are made on
the HVIT to correct it's readings tp match those on the Frequency Counter. After
calibration is completed a series of 20 shots are fired to establish a qualified
Satistical Data comparison.
